Spring Jubilee

OK - so this is a lousy photo - but it shows my small display at my friend Mike's storefront for Spring Jubilee. I still have plenty at The Mercantile also. The photo is lousy partly because of the putrid green wall behind it, as well as the fact that the bright afternoon sun was streaming in through the window. And my simple digital is not equipped with the fancy bells and whistles to filter the sun. (Nothing can filter the green!)
Mike rented the storefront to sell his jewelry and offered me a space for my pottery. You can't see them in this photo but my friend Jo has some of her art quilt wall hangings there also. She has some better photos, as well as pics of her quilts on her blog.
Hope you can join us for Jubilee! It starts officially in 6 hours!

Show Time!

Tomorrow is the beginning of my first show of the year...
Since my last post, I have found the cone 6 stoneware slip to cast some pieces. It arrived on Monday. Yes, this most recently past Monday! I cast Monday night and Tuesday morning. Bisque fired Wednesday morning and sanded and glazed Wednesday night. The pieces are under a fan all day today (Thursday) and will go into the glaze firing tonight for the show that starts tomorrow! WHEW!
No wonder I woke with a migraine at 4 AM today! Never fear, that pain is gone, thanks to Excedrin. But I am still in that migraine fog that screws with my ability to connect thoughts. And that also affects my typing, the number of times I have to correct weird spelling!
I WILL take photos of the new glazes and new clay pieces at the show. I WILL post them this weekend!
The show is at the Clemson Ramada Inn. The occasion is the Electric City Shag Club's annual Electric Storm. This is a big weekend-long dance party. The proceeds go to charity. For those of you who do not know, Shag is the state dance of SC. It is fun to watch and is danced mainly to beach music. I have seen people dance the Shag to other types of music as well. No, I have not attempted to dance it myself.
The craft show is in the lobby of the motel and is free and open to the public. Michael Craig Designs will be there with his beautiful jewelry and I hear that Tag Team Designs will be there with their diamond plate products as well. There are other vendors as well, but I do not know their names.
I have not forgotten... I WILL take AND post photos this weekend!

Some links I like

I have listed a few links to family and friends. Both web sites and blogs are included. I'll add more in time.
Three of the links are family. One being our store here in Pendleton, the website, another it's blog and last but not least my younger sister Regina's blog. Regina is the one who made me aware of Blogger. She is also the one I go to when I can't figure something out here. She is my techno-savvy, easy to IM sibling.
The other links are for close creative friends. Michael Craig Designs & Savage Art Studio are more along the lines of informational sites, but have wonderful galleries of their work. Dogmaw Glass has all the bells and whistles. Jo & Chris not only feature their work but sell Satake glass rods. Jo's blog often features furry friends.
Today I may add the link to the Rabbit Sanctuary in Simpsonville, SC. My friend Sharon volunteers there and I have done some rabbit art (water colored sketches) for some of their benefit functions.
